Crop Circles Are Still a Thing

Ludwell, Wiltshire, England in the UK; 07/12.2025

Crop circles have a history of being reported stretching back centuries. The modern era of crop circles emerged in the 1970’s. While many crop circles are now attributed to human-made hoaxes, the mystery surrounding their origin and the possibility of non-human involvement remains. The crop circle phenomenon, regardless of origin, has become a cultural phenomenon, attracting tourists and inspiring artistic interpretations. Crop circles are large geometric patterns formed by flattening crops, most famously in fields of southern England, though they appear worldwide. Unexplained formations usually have cellular anomalies in the plants. Also the location of the circles find them on or close to ley lines; areas of high energy linking ancient religious and ceremonial sites.

It appears that recent crop circles, particularly those appearing in the 21st century, have generally increased in size and complexity. They tend to have an increased complexity with mathematical and scientific features. In the summer of 2025, dozens of crop circles have been reported, primarily in the UK. In the UK most circles occur in the counties of Wiltshire and Hampshire (ley lines). There are, of course, seasons for formations because most countries do not grow crops year round.

Early circles were fairly simple and the crudeness of those made by people showed a clear distinction from those that researchers describe as more complex. The circles that are described recently as unexplained have characteristics very difficult to find in more crude circles

  • No presence of board marks and imperfections: Hoaxers often use boards and ropes to create formations, leaving behind detectable marks and slight inaccuracies.
  • Long distance from  roads and accessibility: Low tech circles appear near roads and populated areas, making them easily accessible for human creators under the cover of darkness
  • Unusual electromagnetic or radiation readings: Instruments detect abnormal readings within the formation’s perimeter.
  • Bent stalks: The plants are smoothly bent at the node and continue to grow. Modern tech shows stalks have been super heated and bent, not broken.
  • Absence of human traces: No footprints, tool marks, or other signs of human involvement are found
  • Complex and intricate designs: Generally more elaborate geometric patterns, fractal designs, or representations of mathematical and astronomical concepts
  • Near spontaneous formation without witnesses: Formations appear overnight or in less than an hour, with little or no possibility of human activity going unnoticed

IMHO

People that have been inside formations claim to feel strange energies, and have fully charged batteries drained. Some recent circles are nearly 300 ft in diameter. One would be curious as why would someone who can create an event such as that not use their talents to help society in some manner. I have never seen a crop circle, but I believe that not all are man made. I haven’t seen definitive proof that they were made by aliens, time travelers or Mother Earth itself. Maybe I’m too naive on this subject. Is it new age art or pure vandalism? If they are not man made, why are they made? Is it extraterrestrial graffiti or frantic warnings? The logical solution is that all crop circles are a group effort of strangely motivated humans. Oh, and by the way formations have been documented in sand, dirt, snow or even flower beds. Not all serious crop circle researchers link them with aliens. Maybe they are results of natural phenomena. If someone has an very persuasive argument one way or the other let me know.
